Looking Behind Me
March 18, 2021
The day that we went into quarantine
I didn’t think it would be long
But soon summer stopped, the leaves began to fall
And before you know it, I look back at a great big frosted wall
How did we all get here? How could it even be?
But I was lucky with my parents, siblings, and dog by my side
A nice big house, a backyard, and a bike to ride
But some others don’t have space
A two-bedroom apartment, and five people to share
Being at home was hard
But my family was always there
Quarantine is still here
But it’s okay. I know that it will go away
These things take time
You can’t rush the world
At least you can’t rush mine
