Time Cannot Stand

Time cannot stand

It must walk

s l o w l y

When we have somewhere to be

It must run

l i k e  the  w i n d

So

When we want to savor the moment

We must roll moments over our tongues

And chew gently

But we must be willing to

Spit them out

So they do not hurt our swallowing

Time cannot stand

Time must walk slowly

Time must run like the wind

We cannot make time

Walk or run

But we can make ourselves

Stand

And decide
