Hello 6th and 7th graders! As I know, the beginning of the new school year is very scary and stressful as you are not super used to the school. For the 6th graders, it is a brand new school that you don’t know the way around, who any of the teachers are, and you don’t know some of your other classmates. For the 7th graders, you know the work is going to get way harder, and there might be new classmates you need to welcome into the community. I know everything can be so overwhelming but I am going to show you the tips and tricks to not make it so stressful.
Something that I did throughout my first 2 years of middle school is keeping and using a planner throughout the year. This kept me organized and will keep you organized too once you start using it. A planner does more than just keeps you organized. It also makes sure you keep up with homework assignments and if you have any tests or quizzes coming up. When I started using a planner, I saw big improvements with my grades going up and not getting any points taken off if I just didn’t complete an assignment. It is not just school supplies to be a good member of the Pelham Middle School community. There is always new students joining the middle school looking to make new friends but they most likely will be nerves to talk to new people just how you probably were coming to the middle school for your first time. Introducing yourself to these new students and showing them around the school can do as much as you think to the new students.
Going to academy might not seem like a big deal to improve your experience your time at school but it really does. Going to academy does more than just improve your grades, it helps you connect with the teacher more. Connecting with teachers might help you understand the lessons more. I always like to think it about like free tutoring because you are getting extra help with assignments that you might have not gotten if you asked in class. Finally, always work hard. Even if you are not doing great currently in school, maybe if you work a little bit harder it can help you improve a lot more. It also shows your teacher that you care about school.
In conclusion, school can be a stressful place but if you work hard and simply have fun your experience will much better.
