As we are entering the last few months of the school year, community projects in the 8th grade are starting to build and come together as one, while the last few weeks the 8th graders have been doing separate things to build their project as one. Many community project groups are also doing things in and outside of school for their project. For example, one group will be doing a Domestic Violence table on April 12th. This will be in school. Many groups are also doing activities outside of school. Many groups will be visiting soup kitchens, animal shelters, and nursing homes so they can get a bigger knowledge of what their project is on. Groups also have been visiting 6th and 7th grade classes, educating the younger students on their topic. Also, in the beginning of the project, groups did research on their topic and wrote an essay on their own. This also helped 8th graders get a basic understanding about their topic before they went more in depth and started to do things outside of school. The 8th grade students will be working on these projects for the rest of the school year and will present them by the end of the year.
