As summer changes to winter, we will be seeing less and less of dandelions and warmth and more and more of schoolwork and chilly weather. I have written this simple poem to remind us of those summer days.
A little seed
A floating orb
A brave adventurer
Going out into the world.
A tiny sprout
A perfect green curl
A hopeful hand
Reaching out tentatively to touch the sun.
A leafy plant
A small green firework
A joyful child,
Proud of its small achievements.
A small green bud,
A tiny promise,
A treasure chest
Containing hidden jewels.
A yellow flower,
A bright little sun,
A graceful dancer,
Resplendent in its yellow attire.
A small green bud once more,
A memory of things past,
But still a promise
Of more beautiful things to come
A round, feathery puff
A wishing star
Knowing it will be plucked and blown eventually
But willing to go,
So more small floating adventurers
Can brave the skies
Once again.
