First of all, this is an opinion piece, so whatever is said in this article is not necessarily true. But, with the holiday season coming up, the hot topic among the middle school is the holidays! Some people are saying that the Christmas/holiday season has already started, but others disagree. What do the majority of students think? Let’s find out.
I’ve asked around and gotten some direct quotes. “Christmas season started as soon as it turned 12 AM on November 1st,” stated Sofia Carcanaj.
“After November 1st,” stated Ediola Pulaj, a sixth grader at Pelham Middle School.
“I think the Christmas season starts after Thanksgiving, but I think it’s ethical to listen to Christmas music after Halloween,” stated Feven Bulcha. As you can see, a lot of people believe that the Christmas/holiday season starts on November 1, but some people, like Feven, think that the Christmas season doesn’t start directly after Halloween. “It just doesn’t make sense… traditionally, people think [the end of] Thanksgiving starts the beginning of Christmas…” Feven stated.
There you have it! There are mixed answers, but the majority of the people I asked said that the Christmas/holiday season starts right after Halloween. I, personally, believe that the Christmas/holiday season starts on December 1st. Do you agree?
