What’s the new hot topic in the movie industry? The new Wicked movie! There have been many new movies throughout the 2024 year, but only a couple of them have been super successful. First it was Inside Out 2, then it was Despicable Me, and now it’s Wicked! The movie is a great combination of comedy, suspense, and drama, with a little bit of romance. But of course, with every great movie there are one or two tiny flaws. One flaw in the movie I found is that the movie is WAY too long. 2 hours and 40 minutes! If there was a child under 5, maybe even 8 years old, they would be bored out of their minds by the 1 hour mark! And yes, this movie is designed for older kids, but if a younger kid is interested and wants to see it, I would suggest waiting until the child is older. If your child is 9 or above and has a long attention span, I would highly suggest this movie. But I will say, I am 11 years old, and I was done with the movie around the time I had been watching it for 2 hours. However, others disagree: “I loved the movie! It was really long, but the ending really made a great ending to part 1,” Annabel Cantrell, a 6th grader at Pelham Middle School stated. I’m not sure what everyone else is thinking, but all I’m thinking is- when is the second one going to come out? Hopefully soon!
