There is a very popular book catching everyone’s eye these days with its bright yellow cover with movie references: Better than the Movies. This book was featured on “Booktok” many times and has been adored by many people. It contains elements of grief, romance, comedy, and friendship. When you read this lighthearted piece of artwork, you go on a journey with a girl named Liz, who loves music, and movies. When Liz’s childhood sweetheart Michael moves back into town, she sees it as her second chance to be with him; but is she swooning for the boy next door? This book is perfect for ages 12-16, (I would run to Target right now if you’re in that age range). Overall, this is a wonderful book that captures the true essence of love and comedy at the same time. It’s a perfect rom-com about rom-coms.
