On October 31 sometime over 2,000 years ago the first ever halloween was celebrated in Celtic culture in Europe. At that time Halloween was called Samhain festival and was celebrated to ward off the evil spirit that roamed that night. Over time The Samhain festival was adapted to All Hallows’ Eve, which eventually became what we know to be Halloween.
Here at PMS we celebrate Halloween with fun costumes, activities, and a spirit week that anyone can participate in. In fact there is a costume contest where people with good costumes are selected and the best costume wins. We also have a spirit week with a different theme each day. This year the themes are spooky pajama day, spooky sock day, wacky Wednesday, Halloween color day, and Halloween costume day.
Happy Halloween!
