Remembering Thanksgiving

Remembering Thanksgiving

Remember Thanksgiving

Every year in November

Right after Halloween

The Christmas spirit starts to spread

No regard for in between

But right in the middle

Of these two big holidays

There lies a special celebration

That barely even stays

Since right after or before

Everyone moves on

To Hanukah or Christmas

Making Thanksgiving not long

Thanksgiving should be given

More respect and care

It’s the holiday for thankfulness

The holiday for prayer

The Pilgrims started it

In the year 1621

They shared a feast with the Natives

And connected everyone

This holiday is special

And should be given more thought

But for the rest of time

It will always be caught

Right in the way

Of the Christmas celebration

So it will be pushed aside

No matter the situation

But just wait a little longer

To celebrate the winter fun

Just wait until Thanksgiving

So other holidays are done

Then gratitude can be given

Where it’s most deserved

To the special holiday

Where turkey is served
