In December there are many holidays

Spent with family and friends

There is christmas

Celebrated on the 25th

And presents under the tree

Which is celebrated with the whole family

Music and laughter all around

With millions of snowflakes on the ground

Instead of rain, there is snow

Because the cold wind blows

There is Hanukkah

A menorah is lit for eight nights

Each night there is a new light

Gifts are given for each one

Hanukkah is celebrated when there is no sun

Families play with a dreidel

That spins in a spiral

There is kwanzaa

Candles are lit on a kinara

There are three red, and three green

Food is eaten with family and friends

To celebrate the holiday

After christmas, hanukkah, and kwanzaa

There is new years

People stay up till midnight on December 31st

To wait for the new year to arrive

When the clock reaches 12am

Families and friends celebrate

Some people celebrate more than one holiday during winter

And others celebrate none

But for all, the winter is fun
