Community Projects at Pelham Middle School

There are many community projects going on in Pelham Middle School. These projects help promote change. One project is by Daniela and Courtney.  Their project is about enhancing literacy in school. Being able to read and write is very important, and everyone should have an opportunity to learn how to do so. Another project, by Elena, Nicoletta, and Sophie, is promoting inclusion in school. Inclusion in school is important because if students aren’t included, they might not want to go to school.  Another project, by Nicasia, Cathleen, and Maya which has to do with coming of age and adolescence. They interview people who are growing up in Pelham. They ask them about the challenges they face while growing up. Another project is by Edie, Hannah, Leo, and Jonathan. For their project they are talking about how poverty impacts people, as well as how others can help. Knowing about poverty is important in order to see how others have to live. Lastly, Rachel, Emerson, Amelia, and Lila are doing a community project that has to do with mental health. They are organizing a mental health day, where they will raise awareness and allow others to understand about mental health. All of the community projects going on in Pelham Middle School are important and will create change.
