The energy of the future begins with our Community Project. I, Chris Passante, along with my fellow group members Evan Kaplan, Rafe Goodyear, Harrison Bray, and Adam Lee have researched the Potential of Sustainable Energy and how it can be implemented in our school. We have organized an action plan to make this possible. We have discovered a great product called the Aris Smart Pole for our school and plan to pitch the idea at a Board Meeting. The Smart Pole is essentially a streetlight that uses solar panels and a wind turbine to generate energy and emits light. We already have had a Zoom meeting (1/31) with the Director of Sales of Aris Wind, Jake Whitney, with whom we plan on working. From this meeting, we have learned that new and improved models of this product include security monitoring devices, USB charging stations, an extra solar panel, and another light. This light has a very eco-friendly appearance which enhances public relations for the school, setting a precedent for future sustainability. We chose to take this action to increase awareness for sustainable energy sources in Pelham. With your help, we can make this possible.
