Hello my name is Mr Ghibli (Ji-bly) I am a house pet to a family that lives in Pelham NY. Before I came into the family’s life I was spending my day at a place they called petsmart. You may be wondering how a hamster can read and write well. I am a special hamster that can read and write but nobody knows about it. So I chose to write all about my life and adventures in a notebook my owner gave me. Yes life in petsmart was good but I longed for adventure. It does get tiring just spending all your time with a chinchilla that doesn’t talk much. And one day while I was snoozing away because hamsters are nocturnal (sleeps during the day and is awake during the night) I saw a boy with bright orange hair with his mom looking at me mom can I please have him the boy asked I will think about it the mom said. Hopes dashed dreams crushed I fell back asleep. But then two days later the boy and his mom were back and he told me he would be bringing me home. I can’t wait, I said but all that came out to him was Squeak-Squeak-Squeak. He picked out a nice cage, not the two story pagoda I wanted but a nice cage. He also bought lots of cage stuffing because hamsters love to burrow. And just like that I was off on my life of adventure. The car ride was super bumpy. When we finally arrived at  where they lived the boy brought me upstairs and into his room where he set my cage up with six inches of stuffing, more than enough room to burrow. There was also a wheel to spin on and a food dish and water. Yes this cage was exceptionally nice. As I got settled in, another face appeared in the room, the boy’s twin brother Alex “oh you ended up getting the hamster” Alex said. Yes I did say the boy whose name I later found out was Liam. That’s nice, said Alex and he left the room. Liam spent the next hour looking at me and making sure I was comfortable. After a while I started to burrow. I had several tunnels and rooms under the stuffing and that night as I listened to Liam’s soft snoring I realised life in this family wouldn’t be too bad. Until the next morning when I met Murphy the family’s Pet dog!
