There I was sleeping peacefully when I heard THUMP-THUMP-THUMP coming CLOSER-CLOSER-CLOSER. But let’s back up my name is Mr Ghibli (Ji-bl-ie) and I am the pet hamster to a family who lives in Pelham New York. And on this faithful night when I heard this noise I was SCARED-SCARED-SCARED then when the doors to my room were opened I froze with fright! It was the family’s pet dog Murphy now normally it would have been fine but tonight I was exploring my room outside the safety of my cage! My heart was beating FAST-FAST-FAST now normally I could easily climb back into my cage but tonight I was on the floor and my cage was on a shelf fortunately for me there was a stack of books next to the shelf I could use to climb up to my cage but it wasn’t going to be easy I could already hear Murphy climbing the stairs to my owners room it was only a matter of seconds I threw myself onto the books and hoisted my little body onto the top book and scrambled into my cage just as the door opened and Murphy entered the room. She walked ina looked around and spotted me she walked over and began to sniff the cage I squeaked with fright and ran into my burrows but I could still hear Murphy’s loud breathing my heart was racing and I was so scared but eventually I heard her walking away but just to be sure I poked my head out of my burrow just in time to see her tail whip around the bedroom door and down the stairs. I was safe at last and I drifted into a nice and easy sleep. But the next morning Liam said something that made my heart sink. He told me that he and his family would be going to Texas for four whole days!!! I couldn’t believe how this could happen. Didn’t he realise how BAD this was. Obviously not if he could possibly think this was ok I was MAD-MAD-MAD but there was nothing I could do so for now I just stayed put and finished a new entry in my journal
